March 2021 - Present

LEAD, CONSULTING DEPARTMENT, DRAGONFLY MENTAL HEALTH

-Meet with domestic and international clients to customize delivery of discrete programs
-Oversee incoming requests for programming or consultations
-Meet with clients to customize delivery of discrete programs and pre- or post-presentation surveys
-Manage program delivery including ongoing communication with clients, consulting team, and Executive Leadership
-Develop and customize content on mental health literacy, active listening, and burnout with an emphasis on academic research settings

September 2019 - June 2022

FOUNDING MEMBER, STOWERS CONNECTION, MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS GROUP

-Saw a need for wholistic mental health support and partnered with Administration to begin development of a program for our entire 550 person company with special emphasis on graduate students and postdoctoral researchers

-Became a certified Mental Health First Aider and encouraged other leaders to also complete training

-Coordinate monthly webinars or panel discussions with mental health experts. Topics include: Compassion & Empathy Fatigue, Art Therapy, Mental Health in 2e Populations, The Intersections of Music & Emotion.

  • Built community of early career scientists interested in nonacademic research

  • Connected local scientific leaders to young researchers exploring career opportunities

May 2017 - September 2019

CHAIR AND POSTDOCTORAL REPRESENTATIVE, CROSSROADS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Stowers Institute for Medical Research, Kansas City, MO

-Elected representative of the postdoctoral constituency

-Planned professional development programming including alumni talks, resume building, scientific communication, Myers Briggs assessments, collaboration, mentoring, and negotiation

-Fostered relationships with external and internal consultants to maximize trainee development

-Plan and execute annual Young Investigator Science Retreat – an internal conference with 250 attendees highlighting the work of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers through poster presentations and selected speakers

  • Managed budget for organization

  • Coordinated fundraising efforts outside of the University setting

  • Responsible for reimbursements to committee members for event planning
